It was one day last fall when Pat Lemeuix had had enough. He was getting dressed for work and could see that he was on the verge of having to buy a larger size. He was fed up with being overweight … at 49, it was something that he’d struggled with for more than 25 years.
Pat had tried over the years to lose the extra weight, but always plateaued at losing 20 -25 pounds. In fact, at one point, Pat even hired a dietician hoping that would help him lose weight. He didn’t lose, however, the kind of weight that he needed. He then got very serious about exercise for 6-12 months where he was exercising 6 times a week. “I didn’t get the results I was hoping to get,” Pat says “All that effort did not pay off. “
For a while, Pat gave up on weight loss and resigned himself to a body that was less than ideal. But on that fall day, when his clothes were becoming too small, he vowed to do something different. He called his younger sister, Jane, for advice to find out how she’d lost 75 pounds (she later went on to lose 96 pounds). His sister was eager to share her secret … ChiroThin of Fargo.
Pat immediately called Dr. John at ChiroThin of Fargo. They set up an appointment and Pat told Dr. John, after their meeting, “I’m in. Let’s move forward!” A 5’10” Pat was weighing in at 247 ½ pounds – 80 pounds over his ideal BMI weight. He told Dr. John his goal was to lose 50 pounds.
Thankfully, Pat had his own cheerleading team at home. His wife and his two children at home (a 15 year old son and 7 year old daughter) were super supportive. His wife would prepare his meals every Sunday for the week which made it easy for Pat to choose what he would eat each day. He did crave pizza for the first two weeks, but after that the cravings disappeared and the diet was easy to stick to.
“Quite honestly,” he says, “this was the easiest thing for weight loss that I’d ever done.” Pat’s sisters were also part of his support team– not only was his younger sister, Jane, on the program, but his older sister, Mary, joined the ChiroThin Fargo diet plan one week after Pat did. Both sisters texted Pat daily helping keep him motivated.
Pat lost 50 pounds, which was his goal, after only 51 days! Dr. John let Pat know that he wasn’t at an ideal BMI yet, but told Pat he would support him whether he decided to go further or not. Well, Pat was more concerned with his visceral fat numbers and could see by these numbers he still had more weight to lose. So Pat decided to stay on the diet.
Pat stayed on the diet for 131 days total (4 months and 11 days) and he ended up losing 80 pounds! In fact, he got his body down to the ideal BMI weight for his height. He is excited – so happy to have made this progress. “It’s been unreal … the ease of the program itself.”
Now, Pat’s more active, playing basketball and doing activities he was unable to do with the extra weight. And he’s feeling much better about himself. He says, “It’s the best thing I’ve done!”
